Imagine a successful Manchester defence solicitor meeting her new client for the first time.
The hairs stand up on the back of her neck.
Who is he?
A lawyer and a murderer are caught in a tangled web of love, loss, terror and intrigue when they come face to face and the lawyer realises that the murderer may be a shadow out of her past and an even greater shadow over her future.
He is a serial killer and she may once have loved him more than anyone in this world.
Who is he?
And what horrific deed from her past is her amnesia hiding?
Do things like this really happen in Manchester?
And in peaceful, fashionable, leafy Wilmslow?

Researching this novel I was smuggled into an interview room at Strangeways Prison to witness a consultation with a murderer. I roamed the seedy streets of Moss Side masquerading as a social worker; ventured into derelict buildings in Manchester city centre, walked along the tow-paths of deserted canals, wandered over the Peak District moors, took a ride in an ambulance and attended a course in self-protection given by a Black-belt karate expert. I even broke my leg, but not in the same way as my danger-defying main character Julia Grant did.
Read my first crime/legal thriller - PINPOINT by Sheila Mary Taylor - set in Manchester and safe, leafy Wilmslow.
